The majority of Jasper’s artwork is typography based and features uplifting messages centered around mental health and queerness. After graduating, he hopes to start a small zine press that highlights these topics.

Before heading off to college, Jasper worked for the Evanston Public Library for three summers as a part of the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program. While there, he helped produce design work and ran small, LGBTQ-focused events. Beginning on Saturday, June 12 and continuing through June, Jasper will be exhibiting an art show at the Evanston Public Library all about “Trans Joy”. His exhibit will be on display on the 3rd floor of the Main Library.

“The transgender narrative tends to be rooted in suffering, that’s why I wanted this exhibit to take a positive approach to talking about trans issues,” said Jasper. “At the end of the day, it’s all about showing up for each other and keeping each other safe and taken care of.”

You can view Jasper’s work through his social media accounts, which can be found at https://linktr.ee/jchuber.
