Be a good neighbor, shovel your sidewalks!
Don't forget to clear your sidewalks of snow and ice to allow everyone, including seniors and those with disabilities, to travel safely. As a reminder:
-
Property owners and occupants are responsible for clearing sidewalks within 24 hours after any accumulation of snow or ice; paths must be at least 36 inches wide. This includes crosswalks and accessibility ramps.
If removing the snow is not possible, use salt or sand to eliminate the hazard.
Get assistance: The Snow Shoveling Assistance Program connects senior and disabled residents with volunteers who are willing to provide snow shoveling services.
Trash and recycling collections delayed
Trash and recycling collections have resumed but will be delayed. To assist operations, the City’s Public Works Agency is asking residents to do the following:
Place trash and recycling containers in their normal collection area on their regular collection day. If a collection was missed earlier this week, please leave the container(s) in their normal collection area until crews are able to empty them.
Clear snow on and around trash and recycling containers so that crews can access them.
