Evanston’s basketball team has been voted the No. 4 seed for the 49th annual Pekin Insurance Holiday Tournament. The Wildkits will open tournament play on December 26th against downstate Washington at 2:15 p.m.

Defending tournament champion Springfield Lanphier, Limestone and Plainfield East earned the top three seeds for the event, which concludes with the championship game on December 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Coach Mike Ellis’ squad will be making its second appearance at the tourney after splitting four games there last year. The Wildkits could face the only team to defeat them so far this winter, Mount Carmel, in the second round of the tourney.
