ETHS Student Has His Pilot's License

With that, Joseph Karriem has accomplished quite a bit this summer.

An Evanston Township High School junior who already has his pilot’s license is heading back to school this fall coming off a pretty amazing summer.

It was so exciting, 17-year-old Joseph Karriem said he still feels like he’s “walking on air,” according to a Chicago Tribune feature.

In August alone, Karriem got his pilot’s license, spent time with the legendary members of the Tuskegee Airmen squadron and flew with world renowned aerobatic pilot Sean Tucker during a Chicago Air and Water Show rehearsal.

“I thought ‘Wow,’ this is definitely one of the greatest achievements I’ve had,” Karriem said. “It was really amazing.”
