Evanston Earns No. 2 Spot on Smartest Suburbs List

Think you’ve got some pretty brainy neighbors? Well, the real estate blog Movoto agrees.

The site named Evanston the second smartest U.S. suburb, trailing only Santa Monica, CA.

Movoto compiled the list by analyzing data such as colleges and universities per capita, public libraries and museums by capita and high school graduation rates. You can see the full explanation here.

Most of Evanston’s points came from the colleges and universities per capita score, the site says. But it also scored high because 65.39 percent of residents have at least a bachelor’s degree, compared to the national average of 28.5 percent.
