Evanston Music Service Launches App For Rare Live Concert Recordings

Where’s the only place you can watch the Grateful Dead ring in the New Year at Winterland 1979? On a music app called The Concert Vault for iPad, which was launched by Groovebug, an Evanston-based music app service, ChicagoMag.com reported. 

In the iTune store, the app is billed as “the world’s greatest collection of exclusive live concert audio and video from the ‘50s to the present day, all available for high quality streaming to your iPad.” 

The collection started with concert promoter Bill Graham’s archives and now includes content such as Graham introducing the Allman Brothers at the Fillmore East, Bon Iver’s Daytrotter set recorded before they shot to stardom and new releases in rock, blues, jazz, country, folk, bluegrass and indie, according to Groovebug’s blog.
