Evanston Nurse Helps Woman Having Heart Attack on Flight

When an 85-year-old woman stopped breathing on a Southwest flight Tuesday, Lindsey Kilsdonk came to her aid.

An ICU nurse at Evanston Hospital helped give CPR to a woman in full cardiac arrest on a Southwest flight headed to Midway from Denver Tuesday, according to CBS Chicago.

Lindsay Kilsdonk was with her husband when they heard a call on the intercom asking for medical help, the article says. They saw a woman in the aisle receiving CPR, which Kilsdonk took over.

The flight was diverted to Omaha and the 85-year-old woman was taken to a hospital there, according to ABC7. Kilsdonk told the station that the woman’s prognosis was not good and that she had gone without a pulse for 20 minutes.
