Evanston Obituary: Sheri Jane Krass, 71

Sheri Jane Krass, January 4, 1949-August 3, 2020, died of complications of Coronavirus (COVID-19) after three weeks in the hospital.

Daughter of Phil and Sylvia (nee Bernstein) Krass. Sister of the late Howard D. (Sherry) and the late Barbara Lynn Krass. Aunt to Gail Perez, Lisa Tosun and Jennifer Tosun.

Sheri grew up in Evanston, Illinois, attending Dawes Elementary, Nichols Junior High School and graduated from Evanston Township High School in 1966. She received a BA In Secondary Education in Math from Northeastern Illinois University. Sheri also completed post graduate work in mental health studies at Florida Atlantic University.

Among her past achievements, Sheri joined her mother, and sister, Barb in running Starseed, Inc., a business selling nutritional supplements . She taught math at a private school, and maintained an interest in the education of children throughout her life.

Sheri was active in conservative Republican politics in Florida, and wrote copiously about political and educational issues that interested her. Known for her warmth, she was appreciated by neighbors whom she’d help out by driving them for groceries. Sheri delighted in singing Karaoke, and greeted fellow enthusiasts with warm hugs. She was active in our electoral process, serving as a Voting System Technician volunteer at the polls in Broward County, Florida.

Sheri was living in Coral Springs, Florida at the time of her death, and is remembered both by her Florida neighbors and her childhood friends alike. She leaves behind her beloved cat, Angela.
