Evanston Residents Spruce Up Mansion Grounds. Voters Will Have Opportunity to Vote to Preserve the Landmarked Home on the November Ballot.
Friday, September 7, a small crowd of Evanston residents spanning all ages, gathered as part of a community effort to spruce up the grounds of the Harley Clarke Mansion at 2603 Sheridan Road. A long-debated topic of discussion, the citizens continue to support preservation in City-sponsored polls, with 86% voting to preserve. But now, the voting public will have an opportunity to weigh in at the ballot box on November 6 with a referendum question about preservation on the ballot.
