EVANSTON, IL — Someone fatally shot an Evanston Township High School senior over the weekend in Chicago's West Rogers Park neighborhood, authorities said.

Arturo Munoz, 17, of Evanston, was standing in an alley shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday in the 6400 block of North Hamilton Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him at least once in the back, according to the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

The witnesses who called 911 heard Munoz shouting out for help from the alley and carried him to the sidewalk, according to police spokesperson Kellie Bartoli.
