Have Your Say On Proposed Bus Changes At CTA, Pace Public Hearing
A public hearing for the discontinuation of one route and realignment of two others is set for April 24 in Evanston.

EVANSTON, IL — Pace and CTA will hold a public hearing later this month on a proposal to discontinue one bus route and and adjust the paths two others, the agencies announced. CTA Route 205, which runs from the Howard Street Red Line station to the Cook County Courthouse in Skokie, would be discontinued. Alternate service will be provided by the realignment of Pace routes 208 and 213.
The east-west Route 208, which goes between the Pace Northwest Transportation Center in Schaumburg and the Davis CTA Purple Line station will travel along Golf Road instead of Church Street west of Dodge Avenue.
Meanwhile, the north-south Route 213 will be extended to the Howard Street station, while removing service on Green Bay Road between Lake Cook Road and the Highland Park Metra station, adding school day-only service to Evanston Township High School and travel along Route 41 between Northbrook Court and Highland Park.

The public hearing regarding CTA Route 205 and Pace routes 208 and 213 for both agencies is scheduled for April 24 at the Levy Center in Evanston. The changes could take effect as soon as this summer.
The suggested changes result from the North Shore Transit Service Coordination plan, completed in December 2017. The joint-agency collaboration is anticipated to "reduce operating costs, but more importantly is expected to improve mobility," according to the study, which recommended the adjustment or addition of 21 different CTA and Pace routes.
