Hyatt House Hotel Coming to Downtown Evanston

The development of a new Hyatt House hotel in Evanston has been officially announced by Janko Group, LLC and Janko Hospitality, LLC.

Located at 1515 Chicago Ave., the hotel will be in downtown Evanston and a few blocks from Northwestern University. It will offer 114 residentially inspired upscale den guest rooms and studio and one-bedroom Kitchen Suites with plush beds and 32-inch HDTVs, REJournals.com reports.

“With thousands of Northwestern University students, alumni and business and leisure travelers arriving in Evanston from across the country, it is an exciting time to be a part of this Hyatt House hotel development in downtown Evanston,” said Greg Spanos, Managing Director, Janko Group. “We are excited to be opening our first Hyatt House hotel in Evanston, where local business is supported by such a strong community.”

Other features of Hyatt House Evanston will include a range of public spaces, a 24-hour workout room, guest laundry facilities and a pool table.

According to the City of Evanston website, the project’s estimated completion date is “Late 2015.”

Peak Construction Corporation was selected as the design/build firm and SCB Architecture is the architect of the project. They reported the groundbreaking of the construction portion of the project last October.
