Judge Tosses Lawsuit by Sarkis Cafe Owner Against her Brother

A Cook County judge has tossed the lawsuit brought by the owner of Evanston’s Sarkis Café against her brother over his plans to open a diner in Highland Park.
Marla Cramin, filed a suit May 6 against her brother, Scott Jaffe and his wife Debra, owners and managers of the Uptown Diner in Highland Park, alleging they copied Sarkis’ menu and only changed the names of various sandwiches and other dishes.
Last month, the suit was dismissed.
