Koi Adds "Hecky Powell Super Juice" to Carry-out & Delivery Menu

100% of Proceeds Go To Evanston Legend's Foundations

In memory and honor of Hecky Powell, philanthropist and owner of Evanston's Hecky's Barbecue, Koi will now offer their "Hecky Powell Super Juice" to go. Both delivery and carry-out orders may enjoy an easy-to-share, 32 ounce carafe for $12. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Forrest E. Powell Foundation and the Evanston WE Program. Hecky Powell Super Juice, created when Hecky was facing some health issues years ago, is a blend of pineapple, cranberry and orange juices with freshly squeezed lemon and a splash of club soda.

Hecky Powell was a dear friend of Koi's proprietor, Sandy Chen. In addition to opening his BBQ restaurant in 1983, Powell was a lifelong Evanston resident known for mentoring and assisting youth. Evanston named a street after him and many called Hecky the "mayor" of the town. Hecky Powell recently passed away from complications due to Covid-19.

Koi's curbside carry-out and delivery menu may be found at KoiEvanston.com.
