Live Music Returns With Evanston Space Summer Stage Concerts
A series of intimate outdoor performances are planned under a big-top tent with coronavirus safety precautions in place.

EVANSTON, IL — Evanston Space is set to host live music Friday for the first time in months. With state regulators limiting attendance at indoor performance spaces, organizers erected a big-top tent in the side lot of the venue at 1245 Chicago Ave. with 16 cabaret tables seating parties of two, four or five for a capacity of up to 50 guests.
After tickets to several of first set of shows announced sold out within a few hours of going on sale, organizers announced an additional set of dates and some early sets, including to the opening night show — a pair of performances from longtime local band Funkadesi.
Organizers announced a series of safety procedures, including temperature checks on entry, mandatory masks for anyone away from reserved tables and a 20 percent service charge on drink bills.

"We won’t hold it against you if you choose not to attend or want to go open your own music tent," organizers said. Tickets are $25 per seat, available online only, and each table must be purchased together, according to the venue's website.
Children and dogs are both allowed in the summer stage venue, which is also available to host private events of up to 50 guests.
