Northwestern President is 16th Highest Paid Among Private College Executives
Schapiro's total compensation in 2011 was estimated at $1,355,062.

Northwestern University President Morton Schapiro is among the top 20 highest paid private college presidents in the United States, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education.
The publication recently released a list ranking private college executives by total compensation in 2011. Schapiro's total take of $1,355,062 puts him at No. 16, behind the presidents of Boston University, New York University, Columbia University and the University of Chicago.
U of C president Robert Zimmer was the most highly paid executive, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education, with total compensation of $3,358,723. Behind Zimmer, Schapiro is the next highest paid private college executive in Illinois.
