Order Temperance Beer at Farmhouse; Benefit the Davis Street Fire Fund

Order a Gatecrasher IPA from Temperance Beer Company at Farmhouse; all proceeds go toward the Davis Street Fire Fund, which supports employees who lost their jobs due to the fire.

Two Evanston businesses have teamed up to help raise funds for the employees who lost their jobs as a result of the Davis Street fire in late December.

All you need to do to help is order a beer.

Temperance Beer Company has donated a keg of Gatecrasher IPA to Farmhouse Tavern, and all proceeds from sales of the beer will go toward the Davis Street Fire Fund. The fundraiser will continue until the keg runs out.

The Davis Street Fire Fund supports former employees of Pine Yard, Technicolour Nails 1 and Taco Diablo, all of whom lost their jobs when a fire ripped through the Davis Street building that housed all three businesses. While the owners of Technicolour Nails and Taco Diablo have said they want to reopen, that process could take months. Building owner George Radaios said he plans to rebuild the property, but said it was too early to estimate how long that will take.

A benefit held by 27 Live last week has already raised $12,000 for the fund. Anyone who wishes to donate can do so by writing a check made out to the Evanston Chamber of Commerce, 1840 Oak Ave., Evanston. Donors should include the words "Davis Street Fire Fund" in the memo.
