Evanston, IL — The house from the 1984 John Hughes hit movie “Sixteen Candles” is for sale. An @properties listing shows the six-bedroom, four-bathroom home at 3022 Payne St. in Evanston for sale for just under $1.5 million.

It’s one of several nice homes in the northern part of Evanston, but it sticks out since it was portrayed as the home of Samantha Baker, the movie’s lead character played by Molly Ringwald.

The home is one of numerous John Hughes film locations in Chicago’s North Shore suburbs. Major parts of “Home Alone,” “The Breakfast Club,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” and “Uncle Buck” were all filmed in the area.
