Property Tax Appeal Workshops Planned For Evanston In July

From Cook County: The Cook County Board of Review will accept appeals from Evanston property owners for 2019 assessments from Monday, July 1- Tuesday, July 30, 2019.

Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin, Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Michael Cabonargi, State Senators Laura Fine and Heather Steans, State Representatives Kelly Cassidy, Robyn Gabel, and Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz, and the City of Evanston will be hosting two workshops to discuss how to appeal your property tax assessments. The workshops are as follows:

“The best way to keep your property taxes low is to appeal your assessment annually to both the Assessor and the Board of Review,” said Com. Suffredin. “I encourage you to reach out to my office so we can assist with your appeal.”

Constituents can contact Com. Suffredin’s office at 847-864-1209 to schedule a personal meeting to discuss specific property tax concerns before the presentations. Com. Suffredin’s office is available to help residents Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 820 Davis St. in Evanston. Suffredin’s staff can also assist residents who aren’t able to make it to the office by phone and e-mail.

The deadline to appeal to the Board of Review is Tuesday, July 30, 2019.
