Roycemore School in Evanston ranked #5 Best Private K-12 School in Illinois by niche.com

Roycemore School in Evanston has been ranked the #5 Best Private K-12 School in Illinois by niche.com. Rankings are based on rigorous analysis of key statistics, reviews from students and parents and include factors such as SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges considered by graduating students, student-teacher ratio, and private school ratings. Data is sourced from the U.S. Department of Education, niche.com users, and the schools directly.

For over 100 years, Roycemore School has prepared students for college and beyond by focusing on each student's strengths and talents, and by building strong connections between faculty and students. Small class sizes and a 6:1 student/teacher ratio have been sited by many parents as reasons for choosing Roycemore. "Roycemore is an intentionally small school. The small class sizes allow the teachers to give the students a lot of individual attention. It has a cozy, family-like feeling. The students are very supportive of each other. Even, though it is small is it very diverse, both culturally and socio-economically. And, the Fine arts offerings are outstanding!" said a parent in a recent niche.com review. Another parent review raved that "(t)he small class sizes and teachers who are able to tailor to each child is a game changer for my daughter. Cannot wait to get our other child enrolled."

Roycemore understands that students learn in many ways and they support their different learning styles and individual passions with unique opportunities as they move through their school years. Each year the Lower School, which includes preschool through grade 4, has a theme week. This annual event ensures that students are challenged at their own levels through participation in hands-on activities. Middle School students, grades 5 through 8, engage is a project designed by them and supported by a teacher/coach and an outside expert mentor for their Personal Passion Projects (P3). Upper School students explore their personal interests through participation in a three-week independent faculty-led personal or group project. For over 45 years, these January Short Term (JST) projects have inspired and nurtured excellence in Upper School students. Many alumni report that JST experiences have led to college majors or future careers.
