Snowstorm in Evanston Expected to be a Dud
As Chicagoland gears up for snowmageddon, light totals expected in Evanston.

EVANSTON, IL - As the greater Chicagoland region is gearing up for what may be the most significant snowfall of the year, officials in the city of Evanston are expecting far less than other communities.
“Current indications are that the Evanston area may receive ½” to maybe 1” of snow today and into tonight,” said James Maiworm, the city’s bureau chief of infrastructure maintenance. “Light snow and flurries could begin falling in the next hour or so. Snow will continue at varying rates through this evening but currently is expected to remain light.”
So any hope of a snow day may be out the window, and the fun can once again skip Evanston.

Maiworm said as a result of the light total expected, no parking restrictions have been put in place, but Public Works crews are on “standby” to see if the situation changes.
