These Twins Are 2019's First Babies Born At Evanston Hospital
A Chicago couple welcomed fraternal twins Palmer and Ford shortly after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

EVANSTON, IL — The first baby born in Evanston in 2019 was followed a few minutes later by her fraternal twin brother. Raven and Katie Krupa of Chicago welcomed Palmer Krupa at 5:31 a.m. on Tuesday, while Ford Krupa was born at 5:38 a.m., according to NorthShore Evanston Hospital.
Palmer was 5 pounds, 14 ounces and 19.5 inches at birth, while Ford was 20 inches and weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces. The twins' one-year-old big sister Ro also welcomed her new pair of siblings. Both moms and babies were doing well, according to NorthShore spokesperson Jim Anthony.
The first baby of 2019 in Cook County was born just five minutes into the new year. Yarehlie Nava was born to Maria Ramirez and Freddy Nava of Elgin at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. She weighed 8 pounds, 15 ounces and 21 inches, according to hospital spokesperson Timothy Nelson.
