Two Evanston Businesses Among Finalists for Martha Stewart Competition

Two Evanston businesses — Few Spirits and Hewn bakery — have advanced to become finalists in the Martha Stewart American Made competition.

The businesses made the cut in different ways.

Few Spirits was one of 800 businesses that was chosen by a panel of judges to become a finalist. Hewn earned one of 200 wild-card spots by activating its social media networks to support it.

Of the 1,000 finalists, 10 award winners will be announced Oct. 17, nine of which will be picked by the judges and the last by public vote. Voting opens Monday.
