Elderly Couple Was Shot, Stabbed To Death: Police
The couple had been married for more than 20 years.

BERWYN, IL -- Berwyn police said an elderly couple found dead in their home early Friday were both shot in the head. Their deaths have been ruled homicides.
Police discovered the bodies of 67-year-old Ira Moore and 70-year-old Tommie Moore on the kitchen floor after officers responded to a report of two unresponsive people at 3129 S. Oak Park Ave. just before 5:30 a.m. Friday.
The scene initially appeared to show signs of a possible murder/suicide, but further investigation by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office showed both Ira Moore, a Vietnam veteran, and wife Tommie Moore, suffered gunshot wounds to the head, and both deaths were ruled homicides, police said. Tommie Moore was also stabbed numerous times in her upper torso, according to police.

The couple had been married for more than 20 years, police said.
Berwyn police have requested assistance from the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, and a forensic investigation is ongoing.
