Blue Max Coffee Hosts Roasting, Latte Art Demo on Wednesday

Blue Max Coffee in Forest Park will be hosting a coffee roasting and latte art demonstration on Oct. 24.

Coffee fanatics looking for a little extra buzz this week will be interested in checking out a coffee roasting and latte art demonstration that will be held this Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Blue Max Coffee, 26 Lathrop Ave. in Forest Park.

The demonstration will run from 6-7 p.m.

Attendees will learn from head roaster Gerard Dever on the art of coffee roasting while using Blue Max's in house roaster to achieve the perfectly toasted bean. Dever will take you through the step-by-step processed used at the coffee house and teach you how to watch, smell and hear the beans to achieve the perfect roast.

Following the roasting demonstration, Blue Max baristas will demonstrate the making of coffee drinks like espresso and lattes, including how to make latte art—those little designs in the foam on top of your cup.

“This is a special opportunity for our customers to come in and learn more about coffee and how it’s roasted and how we make the drinks,” said Terry Griffin, owner of Blue Max Coffee.

The cost of the demonstration will be $20, and attendees will take home a pound of artisan coffee roasted that evening—talk about fresh!
