Eisenhower Expressway AM Commute Slowed by Shooting
Police investigate report of man shot at Laramie Avenue bridge.

Traffic on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway is jammed up Wednesday morning due to a shooting at the Laramie Avenue bridge on Chicago’s West Side. A car involved in the shooting, which took place about 5:30 a.m., is parked on the shoulder of I-290 and police shut down the right two lanes of the inbound Eisenhower to investigate.
Traffic is backed up past Mannheim Road and travel into downtown is taking more than an hour.

The victim tried to drive himself to the hospital and then left his car on the shoulder near Cicero. CBS Chicago reports that a passerby drove him to a hospital.

- on June 12, three people were shot on the Dan Ryan Expressway shortly after 1 a.m. in a road-rage incident
- on June 8, a man in his 20s was shot on the Dan Ryan at 3 a.m. near 31st Street
- a 1:30 a.m. shooting on Lake Shore Drive on June 10 in which the victim said he did not know the shooter
- on May 21, an argument in downtown Chicago led to a shooting on the Bishop Ford Expressway, forcing State Police to shut down the highway for hours during the morning commute.
