FBI Intensifies Search for Serial Bank Robber Dubbed 'Midday Bandit'
FBI releases more information about serial bank robber's wardrobe choices, suspected of robbing eight Chicago-area banks over the past year.

The FBI has upped the ante for information leading to the arrest of a serial bank robber dubbed the “Midday Bandit.”
His latest conquest is the U.S. Bank branch at 6020 W. Roosevelt Road, Oak Park, on August 3. The Midday Bandit is suspected of robbing eight Chicago-area banks, including:

- TCF Bank, 8801 South Ridgeland, Oak Lawn, IL, 10:21 a.m. on June 10, 2014.
- TCF Bank, 1952 West Galena Blvd, Aurora, IL, 11:38 a.m. on July 9, 2014.
- TCF Bank, 6107 South Archer Ave, Chicago, IL, 9:37 a.m. on August, 8, 2014.
- TCF Bank, 2301 North. Harlem Ave., 12:50 p.m. on Sept. 22, 2014.
- Plaza Bank, 3555 North Harlem Ave., 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2014.
- Hoyne Savings Bank. 7001 West Grand Ave., 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 14, 2015.
- TCF Bank, 2301 North Harlem Ave, Chicago, IL, 1:47p.m. on July 17, 2015.
The FBI says he’s also attempted to rob the following banks:
- TCF Bank. 507 E. Woodlawn, LaGrange Park, IL. 10:42 a.m. on July 16, 2014.
- First Midwest Bank. 7181 W Irving Park, Chicago, IL. 9:22 a.m., Aug. 28, 2014.

He achieved FBI nickname status because of the time of day the bank robberies were reported. All of them allegedly occurred between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. between June 2014 and August 2015. The FBI has increased the amount of the reward leading to his capture and arrest to $10,000 after the two most recent robberies.
According to the FBI, on each occasion entered the bank and approached a bank employee, threatening to harm bank employees and customers. To day, there have been no physical injuries reported in connection with the robberies.
Witnesses describe the Midday Bandit as male, black, in his mid 20s, just under 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds with facial hair. He is considered armed and dangerous.
The FBI has released more information about the Midday Bandit’s wardrobe choices:
- He’s worn a varieties of hats and glasses.
- Lately, he’s worn a distinctive “bucket style” hat in the two most recent robberies
- He’s also worn a black and white striped shirt in several of the robberies.
