Forest Park Adults Spent $28,832 on Halloween Costumes Last Year—For Themselves!

Adults are stealing the Halloween show from kids. See how much you and your neighbors spent on costumes last year!

American's spent $512.1 million dollars on adult Halloween costumes last year. Yes, you read that correctly.

That number comes from Crain's Chicago Business and their recently released map showing spending on adult costumes for Halloween in 2011. It's more than 100 million more than was spent on kid's costumes last year.

It seems like the adults are getting into Halloween even more from the kids.

Oak Parkers spent the most last year with a total of $116,916 spent on adult costumes. They're close to the top of the list, but the number one spender in our area actually goes to Cicero, which spent a whopping $120,813.

River Forest and Forest Park, by comparison, spent $37,374 and $28,832 respectively.
