The Village of Forest Park will make every effort to provide you with timely, accurate information to the extent possible during this pandemic. The Village of Forest Park now believes that Cook County is permitted to the share information concerning the confirmed COVID-19 cases under certain provisions of health information privacy laws.

The United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) advises that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule allows a “covered entity” (State of Illinois or Cook County) to share the name or other identifying information of an individual who has been infected with, or exposed to, the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), with law enforcement, paramedics, other first responders, and public health authorities without an individual’s authorization.
