Forest Park Residents To Celebrate Arbor Day At Home April 24
"Children are encouraged to draw their favorite leaves and trees, on scrap and recycled paper if possible, and hang them in windows."
The Village, the Park District, Forest Park School District 91, The Library, McAdam Landscaping, along with Forest Park resident and Tree City expert, Kurt Hansen spent several months planning a big Arbor Day Celebration. We are, of course, disappointed that we will not be able to have the Arbor Day party at the Park District. We are thrilled to announce that McAdam will still be donating the trees that we planned to plant at our Schools and at the Park District. We will plant the official Arbor Day tree at the Park District main building on Friday morning 04/24/2020 @ 10:00 AM. The trees to be planted at each school will take place at a date to be named in the fall.
We have had to adjust the celebration to allow for proper social distancing. So, this year we invite Forest Park kids of all ages to draw their favorite leaves and trees, on scrap and recycled paper if possible, and hang them in your windows on Arbor Day. Take a walk around town and look for your favorite tree. Is it hanging in a window? Or maybe it's growing right here in Forest Park! Make sure you are practicing safe distancing and wear your mask!
