HOBO Now Open In Forest Park

The Home Owners Bargain Outlet reports a successful start after opening two months ago on Roosevelt Road.

FOREST PARK, IL — Congestion along Roosevelt Road in Forest Park hasn't stopped the village's new HOBO store from getting off to a strong start. The store held a grand opening at 7630 W. Roosevelt Road in September after a series of soft openings that helped ease the Milwaukee-based company into the west suburbs, according to a news release.

The Forest Park location is HOBO's seventh in the Midwest after opening its flagship in Milwaukee some years ago.

“We knew HOBO would stoke the fantasies of homeowners eager to increase the value of their home with creative, yet functional improvements,” Forest Park Mayor Anthony Calderone said. “We applaud HOBO’s aggressive advertising campaign to make this the grandest of openings at the Forest Park Plaza.”

Jerry Jurewicz, HOBO vice president of operations, says the company has "enjoyed a particular connection" with the area since it open.

“Forest Park is a community where we feel right at home and we’re confident our customers will feel at home, too.” he said.

The new customer base that has come to Forest Park because of the business' opening has caused a ripple effect that has helped other businesses along Roosevelt Road and nearby, according to Calderone.

"We couldn’t be more thrilled with the early success, which is spilling over to our other retailers," he said.

HOBO officials cite its weekly prizes, as well as the $10,000 "Dream Kitchen," as factors in strong opening sales.

“We look forward to strategizing with our old customer base and introducing HOBO to newcustomers ready to transform a room, floor or their entire home,” said Jurewicz. “The HOBO brand is solid and growing stronger from here to Milwaukee.”

Other Illinois HOBO locations are in Villa Park, Waukegan, Crest Hill and Oak Lawn.
