On October 22nd: McAdam Pumpkin Party Promises Fun For the Entire Family & Community

Forest Park-based Nursery & Garden Center is open until at least the end of October, and as far into November as the weather permits

In the southwest corner of Forest Park, it’s that time of year once again for hayrides, painted faces, a pumpkin-painting station, a spooky story-time and sweet treats.

In other words, the annual McAdam Pumpkin Party is just around the corner, on Saturday, October 22nd at the McAdam Nursery & Garden Center.

From noon to 3 p.m., the seasonal bash will offer those festive elements with a musical and Halloween-themed decorative backdrop. As in years past, the party is for the entire family and community—and it’s all free.

McAdam will also offer significant discounts on perennials, rhododendrons, azaleas, select evergreens and roses, among other items. Its professionals will be on hand to give tips on how to winterize your garden and so you can learn what you can still plant.

“October is really a very good time to landscape, because plants have often been growing in the same containers all summer long,” said Scott McAdam Jr., McAdam’s horticulturist. “By now, they are full-sized and ready to plant. It also helps new plantings to have as many as six to eight months to establish before next summer’s heat arrives to stay.”
