Shanahan's Hosts Lobsterfest This Weekend

Shanahan's Creole Restaurant and Irish Bar brings lobster and all the brown butter you can handle to Forest Park Nov. 16-18.

With so much emphasis on turkeys this season, it can be refreshing to look off the land and into the water—for lobster.

The pilgrims wouldn't eat it. According to the American Spectator, when they arrived in Massachusettes in 1620, it was considered food only suitable for the very poor. Not so much these days, where a good lobster costs as much as a good steak.

Enter Shanahan's Creole Restaurant and Irish Bar in Forest Park. This weekend, beginning on Friday night and running through Sunday, the lobster will be celebrated in all its buttery glory.

Special menu items include a lobster tail and shrimp combo, Lobster Newberg, lobster rolls and lobster cakes. Oh, and you can even get a whole Maine lobster for $35 completed with browned butter for dunking.

Wash it down with a seasonal martini, like Shanahan's Pumpkin Carmel Martini.
