2 RVs Stolen From Frankfort Dealership: Cops

PLUS: A New Lenox man, 27, was cited for driving under the influence following a traffic stop near Laraway and Wolf roads.

FRANKFORT, IL — The following information is from the Frankfort Police Department unless otherwise noted. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

DUI

James D. Westferro, 27, of the 2000 block of Stapleton Road, New Lenox, was cited from driving under the influence and improper lane use following a traffic stop at around 10:37 p.m. Aug. 3 near Laraway and Wolf roads. He was released on bond, and his next court date is Sept. 7.

Stolen Vehicles

Two recreational vehicles were reported stolen Aug. 9 from the parking lot of Terry's RV Center, 20450 S. LaGrange Road.

The stolen RVs were the latest in a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts that have plagued Frankfort and other south suburban communities as far back as late March.

Police urge residents to keep their cars locked, even when the vehicles are parked in a home driveway. Residents are warned against leaving keys, key fobs and valuables in their vehicles, as well.

Anyone witnessing suspicious activity should call Frankfort police at 911 (emergencies) or 815-485-2500 (non-emergencies).

Warrants Served

Police served outstanding Will County warrants recently against a Mokena man and two Frankfort residents in separate, unrelated incidents.

  • William E. Bradley, 38, of the 19300 block of Manchester Drive, Mokena, was arrested at around 11:10 a.m. Aug. 9 in the 1000 block of Lambrecht Road and taken to Will County Jail .
  • Cameron J. Caffrey, 20, of the 8100 block of West Wheatfield Drive, was taken into custody at around 7:10 p.m. Aug. 15 near 84th Avenue and Lincoln Highway. The next court date for Caffrey, who was released on bond, is Sept. 11.
  • Matthew A. Petersen, 31, of the 400 block of North Locust Street, turned himself in at the Frankfort Police Department at about 4 p.m. Aug. 17. He was released on bond, and his next court date is Sept. 6.
