Buford's BBQ And Bourbon Opening Tuesday In Frankfort

The carry-out restaurant at 21112 S. La Grange Road, will offer smoked BBQ favorites.

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort's newest carry-out restaurant, Buford's BBQ & Bourbon is set to open Tuesday at 21112 S. La Grange Road, in the Frankfort Crossing shopping center. The restaurant will offer smoked BBQ favorites, according to its Facebook page.

"Frankfort is a growing community and was very welcoming to our business model," owner John Mathis told Patch. Mathis also owns Salina's Pizza in Frankfort.

Some signature menu items include armadillo egg, Buford's Twinkies, ribs, brisket and pork, Mathis said.

April Koerber, Vice President of Sales and Customer Relations, said the menu is influenced by southern BBQ favorites, but also has influence from Italy and Spain.

"We have kept it simple and delicious, and will also provide some great surprises regularly on our specials board," Koerber said.

The restaurant will also offer a standing 10 percent discount for first responders, police, firefighters and veterans, Koerber said.

The Frankfort Village Board created a new liquor license last month to accommodate the new restaurant. The restaurant can sell beer, wine and bourbon for on-premises consumption. The restaurant has limited sit-down seating, the village said.

Buford's BBQ & Bourbon will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
