College Credits: Students Lead Dance Marathon, Earn Dean's List

Area students are doing amazing things at colleges and universities across the United States.

FRANKFORT, IL — We're sharing the news of all the major higher education accomplishments of students from area towns like Frankfort and Mokena. College students across the country have faced challenges from the coronavirus pandemic, and have still earned achievements like making the Dean's List or participating in charitable events.

Frankfort's Catherine Miles helps lead Dance Marathon to $1.4 million of support for University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital

Catherine Miles of Frankfort, was one of more than 1,400 current University of Iowa students who participated in the 27th annual student-led Dance Marathon which raised more than $1.4 million for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital and one of just 275 Iowa students who held leadership positions with the organization.

Miles served as a Leadership/Family Relations Committee Member during the current academic year.

The final tally raised by the students -- who were inspired by the theme of this year's Dance Marathon: "Rise with Resilience" -- was $1,422,443.27, a total which pushed the amount of support generated by Dance Marathon over the course of its history to more than $31 million.

Students named to Dean's List at Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Kyle Richmond of Mokena, and Mimi McParland of Frankfort, have been named to the fall 2020 trimester Dean's List at Palmer College of Chiropractic's Main campus in Davenport, Iowa.
