Emagine Frankfort Reopening July 1

Emagine Frankfort will be reopening July 1, with some health restrictions, including the wearing of masks, in place.

FRANKFORT, IL — You will soon be able to catch a flick in Frankfort again, with the reopening of Emagine Frankfort on July 1. Since Illinois has now moved into phase 4 of the Restore Illinois plan, movie theaters can now open with health guidelines and capacity limits in place.

"We think we have a very comprehensive plan for the health and safety of our guests," Paul Glantz, chairman and co-founder for Emagine Entertainment, told Patch.

Ticketing software will be used to ensure distancing between parties, by leaving two chairs to the left and right of different groups of guests.

Face masks or coverings will also be required in the theater.

Glantz said there will also be more spacing between showings and fewer show times per day, which will allow for cleaning of the auditoriums between showings. The theater will also operate on a 4-day schedule rather than a 7-day schedule.

Since there aren't many new releases of movies right now, the theater will offer some showings of classics with value pricing.

"I think guests will get a kick out of seeing those classic films again," Glantz said.

According to its reopening plan, there will also be signage reminding to social distance, and hand sanitizer and wipes will be located throughout the theater.

"We're looking forward to welcoming our guests back," Glantz said.
