First Movies Roll at Emagine Dec. 23

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort's new luxury movie theater will celebrate its soft opening just days before Christmas, in time for anticipated holiday premieres such as "Sing," "Passengers" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

Emagine Entertainment Inc., the Michigan-based upscale theater chain, will open six of its 10 state-of-the-art auditoriums at 19965 S. LaGrange Road on Dec. 23 at 4 p.m.

“We are delighted to swing open the doors to Emagine Frankfort as our Christmas present to the Chicago Southland. We are bringing a first class entertainment experience to the marketplace at the price of coach” said Paul Glantz, CEO of Emagine Entertainment.

Each auditorium will feature Christie 4K DLP Digital Cinema projectors, Dolby sound systems and plush powered reclining chairs separated by a full 7 feet of row spacing in stadium-style seating to ensure that every audience member has "the best seat in the house," the company said Tuesday in a release.

Amenities include luxury seating, with reserved seating available through Emagine's app and at www.emagine-entertainment.com free of any internet ticketing surcharge. Emagine boasts of "huge" screens, including the Dolby Atmos EMAX Theatre — the largest screen that stretches wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor. This theater will open Jan. 19.

Hand-crafted cocktails and craft beers are available for guests 21 and up. Emagine employees will even deliver drinks to a guest’s seat.

Guests can purchase their favorite movie concessions or try one of Emagine’s specialty pizzas made fresh on-site in Emagine’s stone oven. Emagine’s Poppin’ Olive popcorn is made with 100 percent olive oil and dressed with sea salt for a healthier version of everyone’s favorite movie treat. Guests may choose from more than 100 flavors or grab a slushy drink for the same price as a soft drink. All soda and frozen beverage refills are complimentary

Tickets will initially range in price from $6 to $10 with no internet ticketing surcharge when purchased via Emagine’s website or Emagine’s smartphone app. All seats will be sold on a reserved-seat basis. Guests are welcome to purchase their tickets online at Emagine’s website, Fandango, Movietickets.com, AOL Moviefone, Atom Tickets (early 2017) or at the box office.
