FRANKFORT, IL — The Frankfort Village Board approved the purchase of several pieces of equipment for its public works department and its utilities department at Monday's board meeting.

The board approved the purchase of a leaf collector, a Ford F-450 dump truck and an International dump truck.

The new leaf collector, a 2021 model, will replace a 2013 model, which has experienced several mechanical issues and is no longer reliable, Trustee Adam Borrelli said. Standard Equipment Company provided a bid of $59,210 for the leaf collector through Sourcewell cooperating purchase.

According to board documents, the replacement truck will be purchased from Currie Motors of Frankfort through the state purchase program for $45,912. The equipment for the truck will be purchased through Monroe Truck Equipment through Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract, for $43,323.

Lastly, the board approved the purchase of a new dump truck for the utilities department, as well as the disposal of the old 2001 dump truck. According to board documents, the 2001 dump truck is at the end of its "useful life" and the cost of repairs are no longer justified.

The board approved the purchase of a 2022 International dump truck, provided by Rush Truck Centers through the state bid program for $84,289.97. The equipment for the truck will cost $69,194 from Monroe Truck Equipment through Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract.
