Frankfort Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

The robbery took place late Wednesday night.

FRANKFORT, IL — Frankfort police are looking for a suspect who flashed a silver handgun before robbing a gas station Wednesday night.

The robbery occurred at Speedway, 22305 S. Center Road. The lone male suspect made off with a small amount of cash before fleeing the scene on foot, police said Thursday.

The man is described as white, 20 to 25 years old, of slender build with a thin goatee or mustache. He was wearing a maroon hoodie, black jacket and sunglasses.

A gas station employee observed a silver Jeep leave the station via the south entrance, but police do not know if it was involved in the crime.

The incident is under investigation, and additional information may be released at a later time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Frankfort Police Department at 815-469-9435.
