Frankfort School Closings, Garbage Delayed Due To Winter Weather

There will be no school for District 157-C students on Tuesday.

FRANKFORT, IL — Winter weather is impacting communities around Will County, including Frankfort. In Frankfort, several services, schools and other organizations have been impacted, and will be closed or have delayed openings.


No School For District 157-C

District 157-C schools and the district office will be closed Tuesday. There will be no in-person or remote learning, the district said.

Lincoln-Way District 210 Will Have Remote Learning Day

Lincoln-Way District 210 students will have a remote learning day on Tuesday due to wintry weather.

Schedule "B" students who were scheduled for in-person attendance will stay home, but attend school remotely, the district said on its Facebook page. Schedule "A" students will engage in regularly scheduled asynchronous learning activity.


Homewood Disposal Delays Service Tuesday

Homewood Disposal will be closed Tuesday, and services will be delayed by one day, the business said on its Facebook. Residential and commercial services will not be performed Tuesday.


Frankfort Public Library Delays Opening

The library will be opening at 10 a.m. Tuesday due to the inclement weather, the library said on its Facebook.


Frankfort Park District Preschool Closed

The pre-school at the park district will be closed for a snow day on Tuesday.


A winter storm warning remains in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday for Will County, according to the National Weather Service. Snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches is possible, and the worst conditions are expected now through Tuesday morning.

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency, the weather service advised.
