Frankfort Tree Lighting Set for Dec. 1

Enjoy Santa visits, refreshments, and live holiday music.

FRANKFORT, IL — The Village of Frankfort recently announced that this year’s annual Village tree lighting ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Breidert Green in downtown Historic Frankfort. Each year, the downtown district comes alive with thousands of lights for this old-fashioned tree lighting event.

“Bring the family to downtown Frankfort and experience our tree lighting event complete with refreshments and enjoy the holiday music of the Hickory Creek Middle School. In addition, volunteers from the Lincoln Way Interact Club will serve refreshments. Of course, as usual, Santa will be arriving to greet the youngsters," said Mayor Jim Holland.

“The tree lighting on Thursday, December 1, kicks off a weekend of holiday cheer in Frankfort. The annual House Walk, sponsored by the Frankfort Historical Society, is scheduled for December 2, the annual Christkindl event, sponsored by the Frankfort Historic Business Association, is scheduled for December 3 and December 4, and the Midnight Madness shopping spree, sponsored by the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for December 9. We invite everyone to experience the holiday season in Frankfort”, continued Mayor Holland.
