Passed as part of the Unanimous Consent Agenda, Ultimate Volleyball plans to expand into Suites 1-3 West at the complex located 10850 W. Laraway Road.
“Ultimate Volleyball has been operating within the main indoor sports field area for over 20 years and proposes to expand its existing operations into Suites 1-3 West for additional training and office space,” Trustee Michael Leddin said.

He also said that at an April 8 public hearing on the project, several neighboring residents to the plaza attended to voice concerns about traffic and parking issues. The Plan Commission members noted that traffic and parking concerns would be brought up before the Traffic Advisory Committee before forwarding a unanimous recommendation to the Village Board to approve the special use permit on two conditions: that all activities shall occur within the building; and that no volleyball tournaments be allowed at the location.
Leddin said the Traffic Advisory Committee discussed the item at the May 5 meeting and the members determined the proposed use would be appropriate.
Later in the meeting, during his comments to the Village Board, Mayor Keith Ogle noted that the Village had been given a financial reporting award.
“The Village of Frankfort has been awarded the certificate of achievement for excellence in financial reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2020,” Ogle said. “The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
Ogle said the Village has received the award every year since 1989.
“Congratulations to our staff and our committee members on the finance side,” he said.
