Hickory Creek Track and Field Teams Take First At Sectionals
All teams finished first overall, with total scores of 290 for the boys and 318 for the girls.
FRANKFORT, IL — Both Hickory Creek track and field teams took home first place finishes after sectional competition on May 14. The teams traveled to Kankakee High School and faced Bourbonnais Upper Grade Center, Chicago Heights Middle School, Mokena Junior High School, Kankakee Junior High School, Summit Hill Junior High School, Parker Junior High School, Memorial Junior High School, and Crete-Monee Middle School, the district said.
The team took home first-place in the following races and events: seventh and eighth grade girls 100-meter hurdles, 4 x 200 meter relay, 4 x 400 meter relay, high jump, and discus; the eighth grade girls team took first in the 200 meters and 400 meters, while the seventh grade girls team took first in shotput, 4 x 100 meter relay, and 800 meters. Both the seventh and eighth grade boys teams finished first in the 100 meters, 1600 meters, 4 x 200 meter relay, high jump, and 4 x 100 meter relay. The seventh grade boys team took home first place finishes in the 400 meters, long jump, 4 x 400 meter relay, and the 110-meter hurdles, according to the district.

“It was an amazing performance by the entire team and everybody was a part of the success,“ Coaches Mitch Stein and Cycle Ford said.
The seventh grade girls team consists of Mackenzie Bacha, Alyssa Bell, Nadiera Bonds, Elizabeth Burfeind, Evie Burns, Camden Cosich, Nora DeFrank, Mia Drzewziecki, Laney Feil, Briana Goodman, Madeline Henry, Cassidy Jagielski, Alaina Pollard, Leah Signore, Ella Slager, Allegra Westphal, and Madison Zielke.

The seventh grade boys team consists of Michael Andruch, Tre Breitzke, Jackson Bremmer, Chase Dominy, J.C. Erickson, Camden Flaherty, Declan Glancy, Noah Kalman, Tyler Knollenberg, Joey Levy, Colin O'Connor, Julian Parker, Tyler Rea, Kaidreaus Richardson, Kayden Smith, Gunnar Thormeyer, and Justin Titus.
The eighth grade girls team consists of Sinead Barrett, Isabella Borrelli, Norella Cornfield, Olivia Donaldson, Daisy Egbutu, Molly Fagan, Elizabeth Feigl, Aria Henry, Samantha Jarosik, Lilianna Kolozy, Victoria Lehman, Tamia Maddox, Sarah Meldeau, Hillary Shelton, Jessi Szafoni, Hannah Tokarski, and Marlee Tracy.
The eighth grade boys team consisted of Aaron Barrios, Quinn Bouck, Connor Brewer, Lendon Broomfield, Matthew Chase, Ari Daniels, Ethan Eichie, Michael Gilbert, Jack Gritzenbach, Sean Hanrahan, Owen Harby, Landon Johnson, Logan Kessling, James Kingsbury, Isaiah Kuli, Matthew Muehlnickel, Ethan Nagy, Dylan Robinson, and Jack Sexton.
49 of the athletes finished first in their event or met the qualifying time or distance and would have qualified for the IESA state meet, the district said. State competition was not held this season.
