Lincoln-Way East Cheerleading Takes First Place At State Finals
This is the team's third consecutive state championship.
FRANKFORT, IL — The Lincoln-Way East Cheerleading team took home its third consecutive first place finish at the IHSA Large Division state finals. The team earned first place with a score of 98.73, according to IHSA final scores.
The team beat out second place Sandburg High School (96.71) and third place Lincoln-Way West High School (96.60).
The team advanced to the state finals after taking first place in sectionals competition. The team took first with a score of 97.24 at sectionals, defeating Lincoln-Way West (94.57) and Edwardsville High School (94.03).

This is the team's third consecutive state championship, after winning in 2019 and 2020. The team was also state champions in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
