FRANKFORT, IL — Richard Trevarthan, 83, a long-time trustee for the Village of Frankfort, died Monday. Trevarthan had retired from his trustee position in 2019 due to health reasons.
Trevarthan was first elected to the board in 1971, and served for 32 years. Trevarthan was also a veteran of the United States Army, his obituary states. He owned Trevarthan Landscaping and was also superintendent of Prestwick Country Club golf course for over 30 years.
"Our thoughts are with the entire Trevarthan family as we mourn the loss of one of Frankfort’s champions. Dick Trevarthan had a very positive impact on the Village of Frankfort. Prestwick Country Club and Golf Course, little league baseball fields, the appearance of landscaping in our Village, the quality of public works and utility equipment are all better because of Dick. He made a lasting impression on Frankfort," Mayor Jim Holland said on the village Facebook page.
