WILL COUNTY, IL — A lost dog or cat can be a pet owner's worst nightmare. Families often cover towns in 'lost pet' flyers and reach out on social media for help. The Will County Animal Control is one resource in Will County that shares lost and found animals Facebook page.
For those who may be searching for a pet, or if you have seen a lost animal and are trying to report it, Patch has created a list of animals who were recently lost or picked up by Will County Animal Control, as well as pets listed on the Lost Dogs of Illinois and Lost Cats of Illinois Facebook pages.
Lockport

- A stray male dog was found in the Big Run area in Lockport Township on July 21. The dog has no microchip.
Plainfield

- A stray dog was found in Van Horn Woods in Plainfield Township on July 21. The dog has no microchip.
- A female grey Pit Bull was found in Plainfield Township on July 20. The dog has no microchip.
- A lost cat was found in Plainfield on July 20 at Route 59 and Caton Farm Road.
Joliet
- Kiki the cat has been missing since July 8 in Joliet. She was last seen near Briggs and Washington Street.
Channahon
- Spooky the cat has been missing since July 21 in Channahon. She was last seen near Meadowlark and Green Heron.
For more information, call Will County Animal Control at (815) 462-5633. The organization does not have the ability to keep strays for long, and will give the dog over to an adoption facility.
