The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Strategic economic growth while maintaining historic charm
Do you support Black Lives Matter and what are your thoughts on the demonstrations held since the death of George Floyd and the shooting of Jacob Blake?
Yes. I believe in peaceful protest, that it is important to raise awareness, and identify areas where we as a society can grow and improve. "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
Do you think the current board has done enough to support racial equality, and if not, what specifically should be done to do so?
N/A
What are your thoughts on the national and local coronavirus response? Do you favor measures such as limiting operation of non-essential businesses and restricting indoor/outdoor dining? And do you favor a local mask mandate?
N/A
What are your thoughts on the state and local coronavirus vaccine distribution, and how do you think local governments should work together to handle vaccine rollout?
This is a critical process which will lead us to a return of "normalcy." We should all work together in a coordinated effort to distribute the vaccine.
What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My professional experience has provided me with the skill set to effectively manage and add value. Running as a write-in candidate due to a nominating petition objection, makes the challenge greater.
If you are a challenger, in what way has the current board or officeholder failed the community (or district or constituency):
Two current Trustees are running for Mayor, so this opened up an opportunity to serve. I believe our current board works hard for the Village. I just want to contribute, as well.
Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform:
Supporting local businesses post-COVID; economic development to grow tax base; continue to provide extraordinary protection and services for residents
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
30+ year of experience with professional service firms - current firm grew from $11 million in revenue to more than $70 million - expanding to 10 offices throughout the country - responsible for all financial and administrative functions - background in finance, human resources and information technology.
If you win this position, what accomplishment would make your term in office as a success?
Track record of making the right decisions to benefit the people of Frankfort.
Why should voters trust you?
No conflicts or competing interests. Long-term fiduciary responsibility in professional career.
What are your views on fiscal policy, government spending and the use of taxpayer dollars in the office you are seeking?
Same fiscal policy I employ at work each day. Identify opportunities for strategic growth, while properly managing expenses and generating profit. I am responsible for the spending of revenue generated by others and I need to do so in a manner that is consistent with the firm's goals and objectives, while protecting firm assets.
Is there any reason you would not serve your full term of office, other than those of health or family?
No
The best advice ever shared with me was:
Leadership and learning are indispensable to each other
What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I was a single dad for 14 years, raising three children. My son is nonverbal autistic. I work hard to fulfill my obligations and take my responsibilities very seriously. I am very fortunate, and enjoy working to improve the lives of others.
