New Lenox Man Arrested in Connection with Frankfort Bank Robbery

The 27-year-old man was taken into custody Friday morning, police said.

FRANKFORT, IL — A New Lenox man was arrested Friday, Oct. 21 in connection with a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday in Frankfort.

The incident took place at US Bank, at Route 30 and LaGrange Road. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-40 years old, wearing blue jeans and a dark gray/black shirt. He also had sunglasses atop his head. A weapon was implied during the robbery, police said.

Following a joint investigation with the FBI, the suspect was identified as Steven W. Lamancusa, 27, of the 800 block of E. Joliet Highway in New Lenox. Lamancusa was taken into custody Friday without incident.

He was quickly identified as a suspect in this incident due to departmental information and social media posts, Frankfort Deputy Police Chief Kevin Keegan said in a release.
