New Mobile Dog Groomer Serves Lincoln-Way Area
Mobile MakeRovers is a mobile pet spa that comes to your home when your dog needs grooming, owner Kevin McGreevy told Patch.

FRANKFORT, IL — If you're a pet owner, you know that taking your pet to the groomer can be quite the ordeal. For Lincoln-Way-area dog owners, a new mobile grooming business can make things more convenient for you and comfortable for your dog, owner Kevin McGreevy told Patch.
Mobile MakeRovers, which is based in Manhattan, offers a mobile pet spa that comes to your home when your dog needs grooming.
McGreevy said he is the owner of an older dog. When he started searching for a mobile groomer, he said he had difficulty finding one who would call him back.

After struggling to find a groomer for his own dog, he decided to give the mobile grooming business a try himself.
He put out an advertisement on Facebook looking for a groomer, and found Michelle Cheney. McGreevy then got the van, came up with the business' name and started appointments in May.

Cheney has been grooming dogs for more than 10 years, and also trained through a 500-hour program through a certified school, she told Patch.
Cheney is one-on-one with the dogs in the mobile pet spa, and she said she provides a bath, blow dry, hair cut, brush out, nail trim and file, and ear cleaning for each dog. She said each appointment takes 45 minutes to an hour and a half.
"[Business] has been good," McGreevy said. "We're still building the business."
He said that the van is a great advertising tool, and he will take it out when running errands, as it acts as a mobile billboard.
The mobile spa services Manhattan, New Lenox, Frankfort, Mokena, Elwood, Joliet, Bourbonnais, Orland Park and Green Garden. McGreevy said the van will also go to other nearby towns, if scheduling allows.
"We've been getting a lot of calls, rebookings," McGreevy said. "We're trying to teach the customers the benefits of staying on top of grooming."
He said responsiveness, communication and customer service are key elements of his business.
"Even if we're booked, we want to make sure that we're communicating with clients or potential clients," he said.
